Public transport

There are several public transport options available in Tricity, including:

• bus and tram
• SKM train
• PKM train
• regional train
• ferry

Bus and tram

Busses and trams are operated by ZTM Gdańsk. Tickets are available for a single ride or for a time period. The time-constrained tickets are valid for both bus and tram - you can change the vehicle during the ride.

One of the most convenient way to buy tickets is using one of the supported mobile applications . You won't be disappointed by Jak dojadę which allows to not only buy the tickets but also is great for planning your trip.

You can also buy paper tickets in ticket machines located near stops or buy them in kiosks. Those tickets must be validated inside the vehicle. One more option is to buy tickets using the machines inside the trams. This way you can buy only the single ride tickets that are valid for that particular vehicle.

SKM train

The name stands for "fast city train" and it's a line connecting all major parts of the city along the coast. The most important for the internal communication is part of the route between Gdańsk Śródmieście and Gdynia Chylonia. This train is also a convenient way to go to Wejherowo because that's where the standard route reaches. Selected services go even beyond that and connect Tricity with Lębork.

In the hours of the highest traffic the train goes every 7-10 minutes in each direction.

PKM train

PKM operates on a few lines in the pomeranian voivodeship. One of them goes from Gdańsk Wrzeszcz to Gdynia through the airport. If you happen to travel by plane it may be your way to the city. That trip takes around 25 minutes and trains go every 15-30 minutes depending on the time of the day.

Other lines operated by PKM connect cities like Kartuzy and Kościerzyna with Tricity. Those connections can be your gate to explore Kashubia - pretty unique region of Poland with its own language and culture. The area is known for the beautiful lakes and forests.
